You might remember back in February, we took them to see Laurie Berkner in concert....well she was playing again...and this time it was a free concert in Central Park in honor of Earth Day. We saw two shows...Brady Rymer followed by Laurie Berkner. Central Park was PACKED!!! Someone who was sitting near us hit the nail on the head when they described the event as "BABY WOODSTOCK"... Even on the subway heading up to the venue, it was full of pre-school aged children lined up sitting in all the seats. In our subway car, some of the parents were even singing some of the Laurie Berkner songs with the kids. It was so much fun!!!
MAN was it HOT though in the park!!! There are hundreds of beautiful oak trees, but being that it is still early in our NY spring...there are almost no leaves on the trees yet to give us shade. Luckily we brought sunscreen for the boys...too bad I forgot to put it on me!
After the shows, we walked 30 blocks down to a birthday party for one of my oldest childhood friend's little boy who turned one!!! Happy Birthday Evan!!!! The boys had a wonderful time at the party, and it was really fabulous to see Beth and her family.
After the party the boys decided they wanted to ride in a taxi cab...and we said OK!!! So we hopped in a cab, and the boys told the driver where they wanted to go...Times Square. We grabbed a bite to eat, and meandered our way back down to Penn Station to catch our train home.
Whew, what a day! Although it was not a day without dizziness and exhaustion on my part...all in all it was a FANTABULOUS DAY!!!! Tristan said the sweetest thing to me on the train ride...He said, "Mommy, it makes me so happy to share such a special day with you...I love you!"
What do you say after that????
