Stu (the gadget junkie), decided that it was time for him to get a new computer, even though his old one was only less than 2 years old (and BARELY used)....he's ALWAYS on MINE!!! We decided that the boys were now old enough to use a computer, just NOT mine!!! Jackson, Logan, and Tristan are all so thrilled to be the very lucky recipients of Stu's old desktop computer!!
I started them out on the Microsoft Paint program, because it's really great for learning how to control the mouse. They have been using the computer for about 2 weeks now and have since moved onto Microsoft Word, so they can learn the keyboard....and also are enjoying playing games on PBSkids.org, Noggin.com, and Nickjr.com.
I usually set the timer on the microwave for 10-15 minutes, then they have to switch and give the next person a turn. Once everyone has had a turn, then they can have another...then that's usually it for the day. So far it seems to be working out well. We had originally set it up in the kitchen, but that didn't work out...so now we have them in the corner of the living room. I told them that's their very own office area. They are all so proud, and think they are hot stuff now!
