Thanks so much for your prayers everyone!!!
We had to be at Stony Brook at 5:30am...yeesh!!! Jackson's actual surgery went quite well. They went in to repair a hernia on the right side, but were also going to explore the left since Tristan ended up having surgery 2 times....Good thing they explored over there, because sure enough Jackson also had a left hernia too.
So it ended up being a double hernia surgery...hopefully that means he won't have to go back in for that again. While in the ICU, his heart was doing some weird sinus arrythmia things that they were watching for a couple of hours, and he needed oxygen a few times after he woke up due to lower than normal oxygen sats. After a few hours he went to the regular recovery area for the rest of the day.
Around 1:00 he started screaming that he was in pain down there. Apparantly his caudal block wore off (kind of like an epidural). We came home around 4:30pm, once they were satisfied that he was ok. By that time I had a migraine, and had to drive home with one eye shut. I pulled in the driveway, and said hello to the boys, and went right up to bed for 2 hours!
Today, Jackson is still hurting (he says he feels yucky), but is happy just to hang on the couch and watch tv...so that's fine with me. He ate breakfast this morning, and is talking so...all is hopefully good!
